About Leo Velleu

Leo Velleu is a painter and illustrator based in New York. He studied illustration & painting at the Pratt Institute, graduating in 2019.

His work primarily explores themes of perception and the illusion of self—the deep well of emotion individuals experience, and how those feelings manifest outwardly to shape the complex narratives we construct to define who we are.

Velleu utilizes large-scale, energetic, and confrontational imagery to capture these ideas, aiming to create a visual experience that resonates differently with each viewer.
